Sightseeing & Nature
Of course, the main reason to visit Siem Reap is to tour Angkor Archaeological Park. However, there are many other sightseeing spots to explore both in and around the town. Natural points of interest include Tonle Sap, a massive lake that is home to several floating villages and a stunning array of wildlife. Phnom Kulen National Park, the birthplace of the Khmer empire, is another wonderful outdoor destination to tour, home to an impressive waterfall and the “Valley of a Thousand Lingas”. Within Siem Reap town, numerous ancient pagodas can be found and have interesting architecture to photograph. Wildlife sanctuaries near the city offer up close views of the unique wildlife in Cambodia.
